Arrest made in Yucca Valley party shooting; victim in “grave” condition

A suspect has been arrested for investigation into attempted murder related to the shooting of a Yucca Valley teenager, who may not survive his injuries.
On Sunday night (December 21) at around 9:15 p.m, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 57000 block of Chipmunk Trail for reports of a shooting. Deputies say that they arrived to find Michael Ramos, an 18 year-old resident of Yucca Valley, suffering from a gunshot wound. Ramos was transported to a hospital in grave condition.
Deputies say that Ramos was involved in an argument with another man, identified as Nicholas Lee, a 29 year-old resident of Yucca Valley. Deputies say Lee shot Ramos and fled the location.
Deputies say that the Sheriff’s Aviation Division located Lee hiding in the area. He was taken into custody at around 1:15 a.m.
Nicholas Lee was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail has assumed the investigation. Homicide detectives were provided with an update from the hospital on Ramos’ condition and learned that he is not expected to survive his injuries. They say charges will be modified if Ramos is indeed pronounced deceased.
