Alleged assault results in arrest of two Twentynine Palms residents, stolen vehicles recovered

Two suspects in a June assault were arrested last week and found with alleged stolen vehicles in their possession.

The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said that early in the morning on June 25, deputies investigated an assault with a firearm at a home in the 6000 block of Monte Vista Road in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that the resident of the home, Keetsa Davis, a 43 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, threw rocks at a victim, and then Danny Thompson, a 48 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, pointed a gun at the victim. Deputies say that when the victim attempted to flee, Davis and Thompson vandalized the victim’s vehicle. Deputies say they were unable to locate Davis or Thompson, and issued warrants for their arrest.

On Saturday (July 11), deputies learned that Davis had returned to her home on Monte Vista Road, and arrived to take her into custody. There, they say they found a Polaris RZR and a flatbed trailer that had been reported stolen from a residence nearby. A detective from the Morongo Basin Station served a search warrant for the residence. Deputies say that Davis and Thompson were found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a loaded firearm, ammunition, and firearm parts. They were both taken into custody without further incident.

Keetsa Davis was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism, and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $100,000 bail. Danny Thompson was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, and is being held on $130,000 bail.
