29 Palms Minesterial Association holding sunrise service this Sunday at 6AM

The 29 Palms Ministerial Association, in conjunction with the 90th Annual Pioneer Days festivities, will host a sunrise service on Sunday, October 18 at 6 a.m. at Patriotic Hall in Luckie Park.
This year’s theme is “A Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 years of the Old Schoolhouse”. Ministerial association president, Pastor McArthur Wright stated, “This year’s speakers will share on how honoring God is a part of the history of Twentynine Palms and was included in the curriculum in 1927 with the original one-room schoolhouse.
Students began the day with a Bible verse reading, a morning prayer, and the Pledge of Allegiance. These values opened the doors for the church community and in 1929 a local congregation formed and Little Church of the Desert was constructed and dedicated in 1940, which was the first church established in the Morongo Basin and it all began with the old schoolhouse.”
Speakers include Pastor McArthur Wright, Apostles Melvin and Jamie Brock from The Sanctuary Church, and Rev. Casey Orndorf from First Assembly of God Church-29 Palms. Worship will be provided by the praise team from Gospel Fellowship Christian Center Church. An offering will be collected and presented to local non-profit 29 Palms Community Food Pantry. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information on the service or how to donate to the 29 Palms Community Food Pantry please email: 29palmsma@gmail.com.
