It’s all kicking off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday (10/15) with a community mixer at the Old Schoolhouse Museum. Tickets are $35, which will get you access to food from Louisiana Fried Chicken, live music by Catt and the Deacon, and remarks from this year’s Pioneer Day ambassadors. You can register and get your tickets on the city’s Recdesk page. That’s from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 6760 National Park Drive.

Then, Friday night is Oasis Lights at Freedom Plaza. It’s a free event starting at 6:00 p.m. with music, dancing, vendors, and a laser light show. And don’t forget the annual outhouse races. It’ll be DJ Shuffles and DJ Lxandro on the mic while the lasers fly at 6547 Freedom Way.

But don’t stay out too late because the annual parade is heading down Adobe Road at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Check out what floats community members put together this year and cheer them on along with the marching band. The route is from City Hall at 6136 Adobe Road to Split Rock Avenue. Break for lunch, then make your way back to Freedom Plaza at 4:00 p.m. for concerts from five different bands or head inside the community center right next door for Kidsfest where you’ll find games, activities, giveaways, and an animal show. Both events last until 9:00 p.m.

It’s an even earlier morning Sunday for the 5K walk or run at Luckie Park. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8:00 a.m. It’s five laps around the park at your own speed before the sun gets too hot. You can register at the race, but you’re encouraged to register on the city’s Recdesk page ahead of time. After the race wraps, Luckie Park will host the Pet Parade at 9:30 a.m., where community pets will compete for awards like best costume and best trick. To wrap up the weekend is the Classic Car and Motorcycle Show at The Plaza from noon to 5:00 p.m. Vintage cars and hot rods will be on display for the enthusiasts, plus live music and food.

This year’s 90th Annual Pioneer Days is presented by Bowladium Family Fun Center. The Twentynine Palms Historical Society is a fitting Grand Marshal for the theme: β€œA Century in the Making: Celebrating 100 Years of the Old Schoolhouse.”
