The Yucca Valley High School Trojans boys basketball team played the Cathedral City High School Lions on Thursday night (January 5). At the end of the game, the Trojans beat Cat City 80 to 17.

The Trojans came out sharp and were aggressive from the tip, and led big at half time, so the second half offered a chance for everyone on the team to get some minutes. Freshman Trae Scott led the team with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Anthony Love, Maui Harper, and Blake Nicholas played their best games of the season. The Trojans look to keep the momentum next week when they play at Desert Hot Springs on tomorrow (January 10) and then they will host the first place team, the Rajahs from Indio, on Thursday (January 12).
