At last night’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, the Council recognized the sacrifices of law enforcement officers and dedicated a plaque to slain Sargent Vaca to be prominently located in Remembrance Park.
In other business, the Council unanimously approved the Consent Agenda, including the Little League Drive Pedestrian Improvements and the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Program contract. It also adopted a resolution establishing the spending limit for 2022-23. Next, the Council heard the Treasurer’s Report for the Quarter Ending March 31, and approved staff recommended General Fund and Measure Y funding. Partners to receive funding are the Yucca Valley Senior Citizen Club, Morongo Basin Tennis Association, Reach Out Morongo Basin, Boys and Girls Club, the Center for Healthy Generations, the Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Desert Regional Tourism Agency.
