Yucca Valley Pickleball Complex celebrates Grand Opening this Saturday (10/3)
The Town of Yucca Valley will celebrate the grand opening of its new regional pickleball complex at the Yucca Valley Community Center Athletic Facilities on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The free, family-friendly celebration will officially welcome the community to the new pickleball facility and highlight the significant improvements made to the Community Center athletic facilities.
Construction on the project began in October 2025, with the first phase focused on developing a dedicated regional pickleball complex while also improving the surrounding Community Center athletic facilities. Phase 1 included the construction of eight dedicated pickleball courts, professional-grade lighting, perimeter fencing, spectator seating and a new shade structure. The project also included additional parking spaces to better accommodate residents, visitors and future recreational activities.
In addition to the new pickleball courts, the project included improvements to the existing athletic facilities, including resurfacing the existing basketball courts and upgrading the basketball court lighting.
The regional pickleball complex was made possible through $1.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding secured by 3rd District Supervisor and Board Chair Dawn Rowe.
The Oct. 3 grand opening will include a live broadcast from Z107.7 FM and Cody Joseph, free introductory pickleball clinics for adults and youth,
Open play and opportunities for community members to try pickleball, raffles and giveaways, and information on how to get your own pickleball key access. JT Desert Drifters will also be on hand selling food and drinks.
That’s happening this Saturday from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. behind the Yucca Valley Community Center.
