Yucca Valley man with warrant arrested for investigation into selling drugs

A man with an active warrant was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs in Yucca Valley.

On Friday (May 1) at around 12:35 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies G. Estrada and E. Swink were on patrol in Yucca Valley. They conducted a pedestrian check at the Park & Ride near the intersection of Kickapoo Trail and Benicia Trail. The deputies contacted Matthew Hieb, a 36 year-old transient resident of Yucca Valley. Hieb was found to have an active warrant related to a 2021 DUI investigation.

Deputies arrested Hieb and conducted a search of his person and property. They say the recovered narcotics, and evidence consistent with the sales of narcotics. Deputies say that evidence included approximately 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 30 grams of suspected heroin, narcotics paraphernalia, a digital scale, multiple small plastic baggies, and U.S. currency.

Matthew Hieb was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances for sale and his outstanding warrant. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $50,000 bail.
