YUCCA VALLEY MAN DETAINED, THREATENS ANOTHER WITH A KNIFE

A Yucca Valley man with a history of violence was arrested Sunday evening, accused of threatening another man with a knife. According to a Sheriff’s report, a man called the Sheriff’s Department shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday to report that David Hopkins, 33, had pulled a knife on him in the old Stater Brothers parking lot, and then left the scene. During the investigation, a deputy went to the 7300 block of Condalia Avenue where David Hopkins was arrested about 9 p.m. on suspicion of making terrorist threats. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000, and is being held on an additional $110,000 bail for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Hopkins has previously been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and possession of a controlled substance.
