YUCCA VALLEY MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE WEAPONS, DRUG, GANG CHARGES

We have limited information about a Yucca Valley man who was arrested last week on multiple weapons and drug charges. A Sheriff’s Department Gang Intelligence Team went to a house in the 7700 block of Balsa Avenue in Yucca Valley about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, where they contacted Benito Cardenas, 46. Benito Cardenas was arrested on suspicion of selling/transporting a controlled substance; transporting methamphetamine; possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon; possession of body armor by a felon; possession of a machine gun; and bringing drugs into jail; as well as on parole violations, and on multiple arrest warrants for participating in a street gang. Benito Cardenas was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, and is being held on his warrants for $200,000.
