Yucca Valley man arrested for suspected domestic violence

A Yucca Valley man who served time for attempted murder of his own grandmother was arrested this week for suspicion of domestic violence

On Tuesday (February 13), County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted Drew Childs, 40, in the 5600 block of Anaconda Road. Childs was arrested on suspicion of battering a spouse, ex-spouse or cohabitant, and he was booked into the West Valley Detention Center on $25,000 bail.

In 2017, Childs was arrested for suspicion of stabbing a man in the neck in a domestic incident.

In 2018, Childs served one year in prison for the attempted murder of his grandmother. He pleaded guilty to additional charges of elderly abuse in the incident in which he was alleged to have attempted to smother her with pillows twice.
