YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING WITH A 2X4

A Yucca Valley transient was arrested Tuesday morning, accused of threatening a resident with a 2×4. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 7400 block of Bannock Trail in Yucca Valley called deputies for help about 6:30 a.m. Friday, April 30, because a strange man, later identified as James Arch, was going through his dumpster. The resident told deputies that when he asked Arch to leave, Arch became aggressive, grabbed a 2×4 and charged him with it. Arch allegedly slammed the board into the ground and then fell, after which the resident was able to chase him off his property. Deputies made an area search but were unable to locate Arch Friday. Tuesday morning, deputies located Arch near the intersection of Bannock and Santa Fe Trails in Yucca Valley and he was taken into custody. James Arch was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, as well as for $200,000 in outstanding warrants. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $250,000.
