TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ACCUSED OF FELONY VANDALISM

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested Monday (May 3) accused of felony vandalism. Just after 10 a.m., Sheriff deputies responded to a call in the 6600 block of Ocotillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms where a neighbor, identified as Dawn Wheeler, 53, was reportedly throwing rocks at a victim’s car. According to Sheriff logs, when deputies attempted to contact Wheeler, she refused to obey deputy’s orders. When they gained access to her home with the help of a family member, she continued to disobey deputies and laid on the floor. Upon attempting to stand Wheeler up, she kicked deputies five to six times in the knees. Dawn Wheeler was subsequently arrested for suspicion of felony vandalism and resisting an executive officer and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.
