A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday, accused of child abuse. Deputies responded about 1:30 p.m. to a 911 call Friday in the 7300 block of Warren Vista Drive in Yucca Valley where they contacted a 12-year-old boy. Deputy Jonathan Holt discovered the boy had severe bruising to his body, consistent with child abuse. After an investigation, Holt and Detective Shauna Ables determined that the boy’s relative, Peter Campos, 32, of the 55900 block of Navajo Trail, was responsible for the bruising. Peter Campos was arrested about 6 p.m. on suspicion of felony child abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
