YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT CITED FOR POSSESSION OF A WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

A Yucca Valley High School student was cited by deputies Tuesday (September 28) for being in possession of a weapon on school grounds. According to Sheriff’s reports, School Resource Officers at Yucca Valley High School were notified around 9 a.m. by staff members that a group of students may be in possession of a stun gun on campus. Staff members identified the group and brought them to the campus administration office. There, a 15-year-old female student was found to be in possession of a stun gun. Through an investigation, the officers learned that the student had found the stun gun and wanted to show it to her friends. Deputies determined the student did not have it for malicious intent or for self defense reasons. The student and her parent were cited for being in possession of a weapon on school grounds.
