Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer opened the season by welcoming Desert Mirage High School last night. The win went to Desert Mirage with a score of 5 to 1.
The first goal of the season was scored by freshman Emma Fulkerson, with the assist from Senior Haley Jackson #18. Coaches said goalies Eden Ricketts and Morghan Doan played with great confidence and made multiple outstanding saves.
Coach Jolene Pessa said, “This game was a win for all of us, we were able to play. We now have the opportunity to focus on our strengths individually and as a team to improve our strategy for our next game. Being back in action has been a breath of fresh air. These ladies have been on top of their game from the moment we got approval to move forward with sports. I am very proud of their teamwork, sportsmanship and the level of responsibility they have displayed the last two weeks.”
