YUCCA VALLEY FELON TOSSES LOADED GUN DURING FOOT PURSUIT

A Yucca Valley felon is suspected of tossing loaded gun while fleeing from deputies. The convicted felon was arrested Sunday, accused of being in possession of a loaded firearm. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 58900 block of David Avenue in Yucca Valley just after 11 p.m. When deputies arrived, they contacted Leslie Rainey, 46, who fled on foot. During the pursuit, the deputy saw Rainey throw a shiny object into a yard. Rainey was caught a short distance from where he allegedly threw the object; deputies went back and found a loaded Colt .357 magnum handgun. A records check of Rainey found that he is a convicted felon. Leslie Rainey was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at  $50,000.
