WONDER VALLEY MAN HELD AT GUNPOINT AFTER BREAKING INTO HOME

The holiday season got off to a rocky start last week for one family after a Wonder Valley man was arrested for breaking into their home. Last Monday (November 22), deputies responded to a call of a break-in on the 83800 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Wonder Valley just before 2 p.m. According to Sheriff reports, a man identified as Allen Daggett, 31, had entered the home through an unlocked side door and went into multiple rooms and searched through a bag on the dining table before entering a room occupied by the homeowners, a husband and wife. While the victims called authorities to report the break-in, the husband held Daggett at gunpoint but Daggett was able to run away a short time later. Daggett was then located by deputies nearby and positively identified by the victims. Following the identification, Allen Daggett was arrested for investigation of burglary and booked into the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $75,000.
