VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOMORROW FOR LOCAL FOOD BANK SUPPLIER

Waste Not Morongo Basin needs 25 able-bodied volunteers to off-load a truckload of fresh food boxes into waiting food pantry vehicles. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and meet at the old Joshua Tree Elementary School, 6051 Sunburst Avenue, on Thursday, December 10 and 17 at 8 a.m. The non-profit has been doing this distribution since May with 60 boxes of produce, which has grown to 1,200 boxes in December. A truckload feeds about 5,000 people each week. It takes about 1.5 hours to offload.
