FREE FOOD GIVEAWAY IN YUCCA VALLEY TOMORROW

The Santa Fe Social Clubhouse in Yucca Valley will distribute free surplus food tomorrow (September 1) beginning at 3 p.m. The food is distributed first-come, first-served. There will be drive-through and walk-up distribution. Please remain in your vehicle until your turn; the walk-up line is for those arriving on foot. You must be able to pick up your own food box; staff will not be available to bring food to your vehicle. Everyone is required to wear a mask. The Santa Fe clubhouse is located at 56020 Santa Fe Trail, Suite M, in Yucca Valley. For more information, call Phebe at 626-684-0560. 

FOOD PANTRY IN JOSHUA TREE OPEN TOMORROW

The Community Food Pantry at the Lutheran Church (6338 Hallee Rd.) in Joshua Tree will be open tomorrow (August 25) from 9-11 a.m. Drive up or walk up to the porch on the north side of the church and you will be handed a bag of food. No registration is required and all those in need of food are welcome. For more information, contact Glenn Miller at 760-364-3957.

SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ONCE AGAIN SUPPLY THREE FREE MEALS A DAY TO ALL STUDENTS

The Morongo Unified School District has once again announced their participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Reporter Gary Daigneault tells us what that means for hungry students…

After more than a year of Grab-&-Go meal distributions, The Morongo Unified School District has returned to offering students their traditional in-person free meal program for breakfast and lunch each day. With the announcement of their continued involvement in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, a bagged supper has been added to the free meal program. This means that all MUSD students, K-12, will continue to have the option of eating three meals a day at all District schools free of charge. SCHOOL DISTRICT HOSTING FINAL 2021 SUMMER MEAL DISTRIBUTION TOMORROW

The weekly meal distributions at Morongo Unified school District sites are coming to an end. Cassidy Taylor has the details on the final meal distribution tomorrow…

The distributions are Mondays through Thursdays, 10-11 a.m., through July 30 at 13 school district sites:

  • Condor Elementary
  • Joshua Tree Elementary
  • Landers Elementary
  • Morongo Valley Elementary
  • Oasis Elementary
  • Onaga Elementary
  • Palm Vista Elementary
  • Twentynine Palms Elementary
  • Yucca Mesa Elementary
  • La Contenta Middle School
  • Twentynine Palms Junior High School
  • Twentynine Palms High School
  • Yucca Valley High School

Weekly pizza meals will be served Fridays from 2-3 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. at Twentynine Palms Elementary School and Yucca Valley High School.  For more information on the MUSD summer meal program, contact the nutritional services department at 760-367-9191 Ext. 4271. Additional Community sites are also available at Knott’s Sky Park from 9- 9:15 a.m. and the Community Service Center from 9:25 – 9:40 a.m.
