TWO TWENTYNINE PALMS RESIDENTS ACCUSED OF MULTIPLE FELONIES

Two Twentynine Palms residents were arrested Friday (July 9) accused of multiple felony charges following an investigation into stolen property. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies were on active patrol near Sun Valley Drive and Hillside Avenue in Twentynine Palms around 3:30 p.m. Thursday (July 8) when they spotted a 2017 Pace trailer that matched the description of a trailer that had been stolen from the Vista Del Sol apartments in Twentynine Palms in Wednesday, June 30. Deputies confirmed the trailer had been stolen and issued a search warrant at the 73100 block of Sun Valley Drive where the trailer was located. Arriving deputies contacted Shawn Turner, 39 and Emily Colbert, 24 at the residence. During their investigation, deputies located a firearm, illegal narcotics, and multiple items related to identity theft. Shawn Turner and Emily Colbert were both arrested for investigation of possession of controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felony child abuse, receiving a stolen vehicle, and identity theft. Turner was additionally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. They were booked into the West Valley Detention Center with their bails set at $200,000 each.
