Two men were arrested in separate, back-to-back traffic stops in Yucca Valley Thursday. At 4:05 p.m., a deputy made a traffic stop at Dumosa Avenue and Yucca Trail. The driver, David Barton, 46, of Landers, was found to be a felon. During a search, the deputy found 21 grams of methamphetamine in Barton’s pants. David Barton was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sales and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
Within minutes of completing the arrest of David Barton, a deputy made another traffic stop at Dumosa Avenue and Yucca Trail at 5:07 p.m. Driving the vehicle was Jesse Palacios, 26, of Yucca Valley. Palacios was on felony probation. During a search of the car, the deputy found a firearm. As a felon, Palacios is not allowed to be in possession of firearms. Jesse Palacios was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
