San Bernardino County COVID-19 vaccinations have pushed past the 2 million mark, though numbers appear down because of a lag in data due to the Labor Day holiday. Gary Daigneault looks at the numbers….
The number of coronavirus cases and tests in the county took a steep dive. Spokesman David Wert said there is a data lag from the state, and that the numbers are not intended to be real-time. The county reported 33,029 more vaccinations in the past week and almost 8,000 fewer new doses than the week before. Last week the county moved past 2 million shots into the arms of residents, state data show. In the county 60.7% of the age-12-plus population has received at least one dose, vs. 76% statewide. The county reported 639 new confirmed coronavirus cases over the three-day weekend, lower than most recent one-day totals. The 2,625 new cases in the past week is about half the amount reported the prior week. The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus is coming down with 541 hospitalized as of Monday (Sept. 6).
