Two Riverside men were arrested Friday night, after several residents called to report a man was pounding on their windows in Twentynine Palms. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies received multiple calls of a man pounding on and breaking windows in the area of Mimosa and Sun Valley Drive starting about 7:15 p.m. Deputies located Jason Warren, 37, in the area. In Warren’s pockets, deputies found pepper spray; as a convicted felon, Warren is not allowed to have weapons, including pepper spray. During their investigation, deputies learned a second man, later identified as Michael Crowder, 30, was following Warren as he went house to house. During a parole search of Crowder, deputies located methamphetamine in his pocket. Warren and Crowder were staying with a woman in Twentynine Palms, and in her home deputies found a loaded Luger 9 mm handgun that Warren had brought with him. Jason Warren was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of vandalism, being a felon in possession of pepper spray, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Warren was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. Michael Crowder was arrested for investigation of possession of methamphetamine, cited, and released.
