TWO JOSHUA TREE RESIDENTS ACCUSED OF BURGLARIZING A HOUSE

Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested Tuesday, accused of burglarizing a house. About 3:30 p.m. neighbors called the Sheriff’s Department to report that a man and a woman were taking items from a house in the 63300 block of Walpi Drive in Joshua Tree and loading them into a van. The deputy performed a traffic stop on a van matching the description of the van being used in the burglary. Inside the van was Kathryn Buck, 59. The Sheriff’s report states that Buck admitted to being inside the home, but denied noticing that the door had been kicked in. The neighbor reported that a man rode off on a green bicycle, and another deputy located a bicycle matching the description in front of a house with a broken window in the 63500 block of Sapphire. Deputies searched the home and found Christopher Zimmerer, 33, hiding inside. After an investigation, Kathryn Buck and Christopher Zimmerer were arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $25,000. In addition, Zimmerer was arrested on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia and for violating his probation.
