Two people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash in Morongo Valley Wednesday night (June 16) around 9 p.m. according to information provided by Morongo Valley Fire Engineer Augustin Noriega and the California Highway Patrol. The reports state that Frank Herrera, 20 of Joshua Tree was driving a blue 1998 Dodge Ram Eastbound, with passengers Gabriela Herrera 23 of Joshua Tree and a 15-year-old juvenile male, and made a left turn to enter the Circle-K gas station. The vehicle was struck by a 2017 Silver Honda Civic heading Westbound driven by Lara Johnson, 32 of Palm Desert. CHP and medical personnel responded to the scene. Lara Johnson and Gabriela Herrera were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for reports of pain. All parties involved were wearing their seatbelts. The collision is under investigation.
