TWO ARRESTS IN INVESTIGATION INTO STOLEN GUNS IN JOSHUA TREE

A Joshua Tree man and a juvenile were arrested during a follow-up investigation of stolen guns from a Joshua Tree home earlier this month. A boy confessed to his grandfather about stealing his guns and told him where he had stashed them. Deputies followed up and went to a home in the 61500 block of Division Street in Joshua Tree where they contacted another juvenile. The boy initially denied having the guns but eventually turned over the stolen rifle and shotgun. Deputies also made contact with another man in the house, Edrick Kennybrew, 43. Kennybrew is a convicted felon and is not allowed to live where firearms are present. Edrick Kennybrew was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000. The juvenile was also arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
