Two people were arrested in Joshua Tree Friday night for having hundreds of thousands of dollars in warrants for their arrests. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 5700 block of Sunfair Road in Joshua Tree about 11:45 p.m. Driving the vehicle was Isaac Ayala, 25, of Landers; Shannon Coelho, 35, of Hemet was a passenger. The deputy saw a BB pistol that he thought was a handgun protruding from under the driver’s seat. Ayala was detained, and deputies searched the vehicle, finding ammunition, a taser, and suspected methamphetamine. Ayala had three active arrest warrants totaling $210,000, and a fourth, no-bail warrant. Isaac Ayala was arrested for his warrants, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held with no bail. Shannon Coelho had a $50,000 arrest warrant from Riverside County and was arrested, and booked at the Riverside County Jail in Banning.
