Twentynine Palms woman found dead on her property after being reported missing

A Twentynine Palms woman was found dead on her own property eight days after being reported as missing,

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department identified the deceased woman as Hiroko Nagao, a 51 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms.

Detectives say that on October 23, Nagao’s husband left his residence. When he returned later in the day, he could not locate his wife. They said that Nagao’s personal items remained at the residence, and that the husband reported her missing.

On Friday, October 31, 2025, at about 1:00 p.m., detectives say Nigao’s body was discovered by her husband on the property. Deputies from the Morongo Station arrived at the location and investigated the scene. 

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail is investigating her death pending the outcome of an autopsy
