Twentynine Palms man arrested for investigation into false imprisonment of neighbor

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested for investigation into false imprisonment after allegedly inappropriately touching and confining his neighbor.

On Monday (February 16) at around 6 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a civil disturbance call at a residential property in the 73000 block of Valley Vista Road in Twentynine Palms. Deputies said that they received a report that Juan Guevara, a 45-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, had touched the victim inappropriately on February 3. The Sheriff’s Department said that Guevara held the victim and would not let her leave his residence. While it is currently not clear how long the victim was held against their will, the victim was eventually able to get away from Guevara. According to deputies, Guevara and the victim live on separate portions of the same property; deputies took Guevara into custody.

Juan Guevara was arrested for investigation into false imprisonment, and has since been released on bail.
