A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Sunday in Victorville, after he tried to take a deputy’s taser and baton. Deputies say that Stanley Drakkar, 29, went to a mental health facility in Victorville just after 7 p.m. Drakkar had been banned from the facility due to previous issues, but he forced himself in and sat in the lobby, and refused to leave. When the deputy arrived, he tried to get Drakkar to leave with him, but Drakkar refused. The deputy said Drakkar became physically combative with him and a security guard, trying to take them both to the ground and attempting to disarm the deputy of his taser and baton. The deputy used his taser and baton on Drakkar, to no effect. Drakkar then ran and grabbed a patient and used the patient as a human shield. The deputy eventually got Drakkar to release the patient, and when additional deputies arrived, Drakkar was taken into custody. Stanley Drakkar was arrested for investigation of using a person as a shield, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest, booked into the High Desert Detention Center, with his bail set at $250,000
