
Twentynine Palms convicted felon investigated for stolen car and firearm possession
A convicted felon was allegedly found with a stolen vehicle and a firearm in Twentynine Palms.
On Wednesday May 6 at around 6:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies followed up on an investigation at a home in the 67000 block of Presswood Road in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say they contacted Robert Jones, Jr., 48, at the home. Jones was found to be a felon convicted on weapons charges. Deputies say he was in possession of a vehicle that was previously reported stolen out of Twentynine Palms. Deputies say that Jones was found to be in possession of a firearm. Convicted felons are prohibited from being in possession of any weapon or ammunition.
Robert Jones was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, and being in possession of stolen property. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $30,000 bail.
