Twentynine Palms City Council talks money tonight
The Twentynine Palms City Council will convene this evening to consider budgets, council compensation, and amendments to the city’s Master User Fee Schedule. It will mark the council meeting debut for new City Manager Kevin Cole.
The meeting will kick off with presentations to Feathers ‘N Fur Wildlife Rehab Team, Kiwanis Club of Twentynine Palms, and the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club for participating in the Cash for Trash and Recycling Program. Youth Council will provide an update and council will, once again, move forward with a letter of support for the Re-Enlist to Life Veteran Campus.
In two public hearings, council will discuss proposed revisions to the General Fund Budget and amendments to the Master Citywide User Fee Schedule, both for Fiscal Year 2026-27.
Results from the May 12 Non-Profit Grant Applicant Workshop will be presented as the subcommittee’s suggested contributions are announced. Due to budget constraints, the $75,000 originally available was reduced to $50,000 and will be awarded as follows:
- 29 Palms Community Food Pantry & Outreach Ministries, INC.: $25,000
- Reach Out Morongo Basin: $15,000
- Animal Action League: $10,000
As previously discussed, council will introduce an ordinance that increases their monthly compensation to $700.
