Twentynine Palms City Council considers $39k “special assessment” on nuisance property

The Twentynine Palms City Council meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. – and on the agenda is a single resolution confirming the $39,000 cost of cleaning up a property on 7535 Sherman Hoyt avenue. The property is described as “full of trash, debris, and abandoned motor home and box truck” and has been declared a public nuisance. The City Council is expected to direct the property owner to pay the cleanup costs within 10 days following the public hearing or face a special assessment against the property.

Also listed in the agenda, possible future council initiated items such as shade structures in Freedom Plaza, housing and homeless grants and the reallocation of 1.3 million dollars for housing, review of the city’s cannabis codes and discussion regarding a moratorium on data centers.
