Twentynine Palms Book Festival begins Friday (11/7)

The Twentynine Palms Book Festival begins this Friday (November 7) with a full weekend of events celebrating authors, literacy, and the joy of books.

More than 90 authors and 17 live sessions are spread out over three days this year, with most happening at the Twentynine Palms Community Center.

The event kicks off tomorrow with an event called “Where the Hell is 29 Palms?” moderated by longtime local journalist Kurt Schauppner. Other Friday events include talks called “Los Angeles and the Rise of the American Indian Movement,” “Is the Desert Inspirational for Comedy Writing?” and “Wimmen’s Comix: A VIP Conversation”

Swing by the Twentynine Palms Community Center, located at Freedom Plaza, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
