The suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a Yucca Valley teenager in January of 2024 is scheduled to return to court this morning for an Early Disposition Hearing, Troy Reynolds is charged with Felony Hit and Run Resulting in Permanent Injury or Death in the case of Joshua Barreras who was found unresponsive in the center median of Twentynine Palms Highway and Avalon Avenue on January 26th 2024. The sixteen-year-old was pronounced deceased at the Hi-Desert Medical Center that night.
Following a four-week investigation, Reynolds was identified by the Sheriff’s Department as the primary suspect and turned himself in at the Joshua Tree Courthouse on February 27, 2024, entering a “Not Guilty” plea.
Reynolds is currently out on $500,000 bail. This is the 8th continuation of the court case since and z107.7 will keep you updated as the story continues to develop.
