If you enjoy eating—and who doesn’t—and you want to learn about healthy foods and meet new people, reporter Mike Lipsitz has this report on the Transition Joshua Tree free summer picnic this Sunday…
Transition Joshua Tree holds its monthly community dinner and produce giveaway on Sunday, August 27, starting at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church East Parkway in Joshua Tree. It’s a Sunday summer picnic featuring veggie burgers and picnic sides. The goal of the Joshua Tree Local Food Program is to provide fresh food and vegetables to supplement existing food assistance programs and to educate people about growing, storing and cooking fresh food. This is a no-waste event, so please bring your own eating service and a bag to take home some fresh produce. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
