TPHS BOYS’ BASKETBALL OPENS LEAGUE PLAY

The Twentynine Palms High School Boys basketball teams opened up Desert Valley League play on Wednesday (December 8) in the Richard Casey Memorial Gymnasium.

The JV Wildcats rode balanced scoring and great team defense to a 81-27 victory. The Wildcats were led by Rory Morning and Brandon Evans with 18 and 17 points respectively, and followed by Taeshawn Armstrong with 16, and Jaidain Booker with 15. Coach Usher said the Wildcats played outstanding on ball defense, which really fueled the victory.

Varsity Wildcats beat Coachella 69-29, fueled by a balanced attack that saw each player scoring at least 5 points. The Cats were led by Micah Deibert with 11, Dynamite Krough with 10, PJ Horn with 9, and Tua Kakalia and Patrick Garza with 7 a piece.

Wildcats travel to Indio on Friday (December 10) for an early season battle for a spot atop the Desert Valley League standings.
