TOXIC FAITH EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ

Ways that religion is sometimes harmful will be explored at Lifetree Café tomorrow. The free program, “Toxic Faith: When Religion Hurts,” features a filmed interview with Sam Brower, the private investigator who cracked open the case that led to the arrest of Warren Jeffs, the leader of the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Day Saints who was convicted in 2011 of sexual assault of underage girls in his church. Participants will discuss three key factors that are often associated with toxic faith. The program is set for 4 p.m. Sunday, October 8. Lifetree Café is located behind Little Church of the Desert at Veterans Way and Ocotillo Avenue. For more information, call Brad White-Findeisen at 760-217-2597.
