Three convicted felons and Yucca Valley residents were arrested Monday after they were found with a stolen rifle. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the Home Depot parking lot in Yucca Valley by a witness who saw a man with a rifle get out of one car and into another car. The car then drove off westbound on Highway 62. The deputy spotted the car west of Dumosa Avenue and followed it to a home in the 56700 block of Antelope Trail in Yucca Valley. Inside the car were Jerry Hamilton, 64, James Chadrick, 60, and Cory Rifenbery, 27. The report states that the deputy saw in plain view inside the car a loaded rifle on top of the center console. A records check revealed that the rifle had been reported stolen. All the men are convicted felons and prohibited from being in possession of a firearm. Jerry Hamilton, James Chadrick, and Cory Rifenbery were arrested for being felons in possession of a firearm, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with their bail set at $50,000 each.
