THEATRE 29 ANNOUNCES CAST FOR CLASSIC COMEDY “HARVEY”

Theatre 29 veteran director Eddie Tucker has cast “Harvey” at Theatre 29. Made popular in 1950 by the Jimmy Stewart film of the same name, “Harvey” is a fast-paced comedy set in the 1940s. In the lead role as Elwood P. Dowd, a man whose best friend is an imaginary rabbit, is award-winning actor Kurt Schauppner. His sister Veta Louise Simmons will be played by newcomer Marissa Pennington, and his self-centered young niece, Myrtle Mae Simmons, by Kylie Robinson. Dr. Chumley will be portrayed by award-winning actor Abe Daniels. Betty Chumley, the doctor’s kind, talkative wife, will played by newcomer Carmen Robinson. Young nurse Ruth Kelly will be played by Lisa Goldberg, and Wilson, a devoted orderly, will be played by Sean Bresach. Dr. Sanderson will be played by David Whiting, and for the show’s final weekend at the Barstow Performing Arts Center, Morgan Pennington will play the role. Cast as Ethel Chauvenet an elite town socialite, is Janet Tucker. An old family friend, Judge Gaffney, will be portrayed by Easy Boos. And finally, Robert Ames will play a taxi cab driver.

“Harvey” will run Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons from August 17 to September 2 with a final performance weekend at the Performing Arts Center in Barstow. For tickets, visit theatre29.org or call the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
