MUSD Board of Trustees to review Board policies regarding immigration enforcement

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold their regular 6:00 p.m. meeting tonight (February 10) at Joshua Tree Elementary.

For the meeting’s agenda, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services David Daniels will give updates on Secondary Lunch as well as the Twentynine Palms High School Kitchen. The Bond Measure C Citizen’s Oversight Committee will also give an update, along with an update from the Enrollment Committee presented by Jene Estrada. 

The Board of Education will conduct a public hearing on reporting required for the Tentative Agreement reached with the California School Employees Association.

There will be reviews of Board Policies, including two sections in Response to Immigration Enforcement. The first will update the AB495 Family Preparedness Plan Act by March 1, including a list of actions staff are prohibited from undertaking; the second will expand AB495’s protections beyond students to staff.
