Suspected assault and high-speed chase ends in arrest for Twentynine Palms man

A man accused of assaulting two people with a baseball bat was arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a high speed pursuit through the hi-desert.
On November 22 at around 4:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4300 block of Del Monte Avenue in Yucca Valley. Deputies identified the suspect as Patrick Torres, a 24 year-old resident of Twentynine Palms. They say he assaulted a 43 year-old man and a 45 year-old woman, injuring one.
Deputies say that Torres fled the scene before they arrived. They eventually located his vehicle near Del Monte Avenue, and that Torres again fled at high speeds through Yucca Valley and Morongo Valley when he eventually stopped and was taken into custody. Torres was found to be on felony probation.
Patrick Torres was arrested for investigation into charges related to assault with a deadly weapon, evading a peace officer, and probation violations. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center without bail.
