In Yucca Valley and still on septic? A $15,000 fine might be coming your way

The state may issue fines of up to $15,000 for Yucca Valley residents who do not connect to the sewer system.
The Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Board oversees our area’s water usage on behalf of the state of California. The Board meets for their regular bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday (December 2.) As part of their agenda, the Board will consider whether to impose fines of approximately $15,000 against several homeowners that received cease and desist orders but have not yet connected to the sewer system. Three Yucca Valley properties are listed on the agenda: a property on Natoma Trail, a property on Encelia Dr, and a property on Ronald Drive.
The Board says that additional penalties could be instituted for homeowners who have not yet connected to the sewer infrastructure, which could be up to $5,000 per day.
The Colorado River Basin Regional Water Quality Board meets Tuesday at 10 a.m. at 3720 Fred Waring Drive, Suite 100 in Palm Desert.
