Suspect in Twentynine Palms attempted burglary allegedly flees on electric bicycle

A man in Twentynine Palms was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, drugs, and resisting arrest.
On Tuesday (February 24) at around 1:15 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to Twentynine Palms responded to a call of a burglary in the 74000 block of Cactus Drive. Deputies said that a suspect attempted to open the front door of a home, then he took property from outside of the home and fled on an electric bicycle.
Deputies identified the suspect as Lee Kuot, 50, and say they contacted while he was riding the bicycle on Cactus Drive. Deputies say that Kuot refused their orders, and was resistant while they attempted to take him into custody. They say he was in possession of narcotics. At the time of his arrest, Kuot was out on bail for misdemeanor drug charges.
Lee Kuot was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on $40,000 bail.
