Subdivision of 73 acres in Twentynine Palms pushed at Planning Commission

During this meeting a Public Hearing was held to discuss whether the Planning Commission should adopt a resolution recommending to the City Council that they approve a Mitigated Negative Declaration, Tentative Tract Map and Development Agreement, regarding this 73.3 acre tract. The tract lies east of Desert Knoll Avenue, west of Utah trail and north of Two Mile Road and was first approved by the City of Twentynine Palms in 2004 but only 40 homes were built at that time.

The applicant Steve Enochs and the Engineer for the project Tim Joneson said that they were in agreement with all the conditions as City Staff had drafted them, except one, telling the commission “We would just ask on condition E23 that we would design the drainage to be in accordance with city and state regulations and as approved by the city engineer. Currently, the drainage study is under review by the city engineering staff. And so we just ask that it would allow a little more flexibility in the design. So that would be our request, is just to revise engineering 23 to just be for the city and state requirements for drainage design.”

The Planning Commission agreed to clarify condition E23 before voting to forward this matter to the Twentynine Palms City Council.
