Statewide candidate filings for Direct Primary Elections is open

If you’ve ever thought about running for office, candidate filing for the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary Election begins Monday (February 9) and continues through March 6.
The offices up for election in San Bernardino County include:
- United States Representatives for districts 23, 25, 28, 31, 33 and 35
- State senators for districts 18, 22 and 32
- Members of the State Assembly for districts 34, 36, 39, 41, 45, 47, 50, 53, 58 and 59
- State Board of Equalization for districts 1 and 4
- County supervisors for districts 2 and 4
- Countywide offices
- Superior Court judges for 24 offices
At the time a person obtains candidacy documents, the individual must be a registered voter residing in the district and division/area. Additionally, candidates for the office of county supervisor must have been a registered voter in the relevant district by Feb. 4.
Citizens interested in running for office may obtain the appropriate candidacy documents from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters Monday through Friday.
