Six unregistered guns seized in Yucca Valley after arrest for suspected assault with a deadly weapon

A report of a man with a gun in the Yucca Mesa area led to an arrest for investigation into assault with a deadly weapon and the possession of six unregistered guns.

On Thursday, March 27, just before 3 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 3000 block of Goleta Ave outside of Yucca Valley. Deputies say that Daniel Minyard, 47, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim, then threatened to kill the victim. Deputies contacted Minyard at his home in the Yucca Mesa area, and conducted a search of his home, where they say they found six unregistered firearms, several loaded firearm magazines, and hundreds of cartridges of ammunition.

Daniel Minyard was arrested on suspicion of assault with a firearm on a person and has since been released on bail.
