SHERIFFS SAY 29 PALMS WOMAN BURNS HER HOME DURING DOMESTIC DISPUTE

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested Saturday (May 29) accused of arson. According to Sheriff’s reports, Yolanda Middleton, 49 of Twentynine Palms found out on Saturday (May 29) that her husband had cheated on her three days prior. Middleton reportedly took the man’s clothes, threw them in a bathtub in their home in the 6100 block of Lupine Avenue in Twentynine Palms, and set the clothes on fire. The resulting fire caused the back side of the residence to catch fire, quickly engulfing it in flames. The fire caused major structural damage to the residence. Middleton told arriving deputies that she was the one who started the fire. Middleton was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for evaluation then arrested for investigation of arson and on a misdemeanor Sheriff’s warrant. Yolanda Middleton was booked into the Central Detention Center with her total bail set at $300,000.
