29 PALMS MAN ARRESTED AFTER THREATENING DEPUTIES

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday (May 28), accused of assault with a deadly weapon after veering towards a deputy with his car. According to Sheriff’s reports, a deputy was conducting a traffic stop in the 7300 block of Utah Trail in Twentynine palms when Favian Morales, 45, of Twentynine Palms drove near the deputy in a yellow Mustang. Morales reportedly veered the vehicle towards the deputy in an attempt to hit him. Morales continued past the deputy then returned and approached the deputy’s patrol vehicle from the rear. Favian Morales was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $50,000.
